Work increases for Spak , the special anti-corruption and anti-crime prosecutor's office in Albania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The annual report on activities in 2025,shows an increase of 4.9% with 871 criminal cases instituted of which 294 were new investigations and 577 were cases brought to a conclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 37% of the investigation was proactively initiated by Spak, which intensified its cooperation with Europol, Eurojust and to U.S. authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Assets worth 42.4 million euros were seized. Confiscation of valuables from illegal activities reached 1.8 million euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigations of high-ranking officials have increased, with more than 50% of investigated defendants sent to trial.10 of them have obtained final convictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Special attention has been paid to money laundering, particularly through cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the critical issues highlighted by the Report concerns the status of prosecutors after the end of their terms.
