Work increases for Spak , the special anti-corruption and anti-crime prosecutor's office in Albania.
The annual report on activities in 2025,shows an increase of 4.9% with 871 criminal cases instituted of which 294 were new investigations and 577 were cases brought to a conclusion.
The 37% of the investigation was proactively initiated by Spak, which intensified its cooperation with Europol, Eurojust and to U.S. authorities.
Assets worth 42.4 million euros were seized. Confiscation of valuables from illegal activities reached 1.8 million euros.
Investigations of high-ranking officials have increased, with more than 50% of investigated defendants sent to trial.10 of them have obtained final convictions.
Special attention has been paid to money laundering, particularly through cryptocurrencies.
One of the critical issues highlighted by the Report concerns the status of prosecutors after the end of their terms. Meanwhile, the Republic Guard has decided to strengthen the escort of former Spak chairman Altin Dumani and 0current Spak chief Klodian Braho.
