The first Italian entrepreneurs came to Albania when Albanians were going to Italy and the rest of the world in search of a better life after 47 years of terrible dictatorship and poverty.
After the tumultuous nineties, marked by strong social tensions, Albania has become one of the favorite destinations for Italian companies looking to relocate abroad, and in 2015 the organization of Italian entrepreneurs, Confindustria, created its Albanian branch in Tirana, which in a short time has become one of the most dynamic players in the entire Western Balkan region.
The president of Confindustria Albania, Davide Rogai, on the occasion of the organization's annual assembly, celebrated the association's first decade with a ceremony entirely focused on the future.

Rogai thanked his predecessor Sergio Fontana, who was recently awarded the honor of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by President Mattarella. Rogai recalled the importance of the work done by Fontana, who led the association for 8 years. The association is now stronger, better organized, and has earned credibility, an excellent reputation, and a fundamental role as a liaison with Albanian public institutions.

Italian entrepreneurs in Albania are well-organized today, managing to play more as a team, even with the turning point initiated by the intergovernmental summit between Rome and Tirana in November 2025. Ambassador Marco Alberti, who has strongly pushed for the creation of a medium-to-long-term strategy between the two governments, focused on this point.
The attention that Albanian institutions are paying to Italian entrepreneurs was evidenced by the speeches of Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu and the Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy and Finance, Milva Ekonomi.
The celebration of Confindustria Albania's tenth anniversary concluded with a tribute to the organization's founding members, who committed themselves to building an association without which the Italian entrepreneurial presence in Albania would not have achieved the success it is recognized for.
